Online Bible

There is no greater resource for growing in your faith than the Word of God itself.  Bible Gateway allows you to look up passages from the Bible in several different translations.  It also has a topical index, devotionals, reading plans, and other tools for reading the bible. Need to cut and paste text when preparing for a bible study or for any other reason? This is it.

Online Hymnal

Martin Luther himself said "Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world." Hymnary.org allows you to look up hymns based upon passages from the Bible or key words and phrases. Thousands of hymnals are listed and cross-referenced, from the Lutheran church and several other denominations.  It also has a topical index and other tools useful in exploring hymnody, including MIDI recordings of many hymns, translation tools, copyright information, and downloadable sheet music. An excellent resource for any liturgical music need.

Device-Friendly Liturgical Calendar

A number of people have asked for a liturgical calendar formatted for iCal, Google Calendar, or any other program that uses the iCalendar format. Such a calendar can be reached by following the link below.

Alternatively, using the same url, you may download the calendar file by pasting the url in the destination window of your web browser and hitting the Go button. For most browsers, on most computers, this will result in that file being downloaded and stored in your downloads folder. You can then import it into your calendar program.

What is the difference? You cannot alter a calendar to which you are subscribed, but you can alter a calendar imported from a file on your computer. The downside, if there is one, is that corrections made to the original file (the online file linked by the button below) will not be replicated on your computer.

dailyLectio.net

dailyLectio.net is a resource designed to help you read the Bible with the church. Each day, it provides in one place the Daily Readings of the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL).

The RCL has been adopted by numerous church bodies throughout the world, including the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod,  as the schedule of biblical passages assigned to be read in their weekly Sunday worship. The Daily Readings both prepare for and reflect back upon the themes found in these Sunday passages.

An e-mail and texting subscription option is available on the site, for those who wish for information to be regularly relayed for their convenience.

We strive to work with the full body of Christ in using our gifts and the best resources available to help support people in their faith.  To inquire about the content of our website and resources or the materials used to produce them please contact us through our church office.  To God Be the Glory!

Throughout 2019-2020, Faith is journeying together through "The STORY" in small group lessons and discussions, through video studies, and through a sermon series. "The STORY" is a novelization of the Holy Bible, published by Zondervan; carefully selected verses from the Bible are organized chronologically and written in the form of a novel from Genesis to Revelation.

On this site, and through the tabs at the top, you can explore and download a number of different puzzles developed by a retired math teacher to review and expand upon the topics of each chapter in "The STORY," along with humorous anecdotes.  Additional tabs offer links to pages for Bible Humor and additional Bible-based puzzles.
